A Meal not to be Taken

Today I met with the perfect meal.
Her bearing, her personality, even the sound of her voice;
all of it was utterly exquisite.

And how I wished I could have dined upon her,
as I did long ago, in the days of old.
A comely maiden, lured by a hypnotic gaze,
drawn into the shadows that the dark may feed.

But alas such moments are sparse these days,
merely a fleeting temptation in the modern world;
a teasing delight, as we are carried by mechanized carriages,
still pretending to live as the kine do...

But oh how I enjoy some momentary delights...
