By means of his perverse innovation.

For none could know of the dark secret;
About the art that he claims to be his own.

Sharp claws rake into my skin

Perched high upon the mountains;
With wings as black as night.
They watch us in the hour,
Before darkness turns to light.

I've seen them in my visions;
In dreams they come and go,
But the things they seem to tell me
I guess nobody should know...

I've seen children that are buried,
Beneath a frozen lake.
A maiden sits there weeping;
Her heart is soon to break.

The crows flutter downward,
A noose amongst their hands.
They take the maiden away,
To a dark and distant land.

A lonely spark appears before me tonight

Frantically he scrambles away from the dark

As the clouds in the skies parted and fire rained to the earth
The soft keening of the voices trapped within the abyss
resounded throughout the empty plains, as the world prepared itself
to meet a fate no worse than complete and utter oblivion.

The waters turned red with blood and bubbled with a poisonous brew
Whilst the creatures of the mountains, mutated into vicious monstrocities
A pall of darkness, settled around the Earth like a cloak of shadows
and in its grip we knew the true fury of a God gone mad.

Hundreds were slain by the rocks that pummelled the ground
As they fell from the heavens like burning stars

A day that was born of the brightest light
Has now shattered like crystals in the sinking dark
Where once the spirit was unfettered and free

A tattoo of pain forever remembered
By a ghost that lives within

There is emptiness in this void

A solemn note born from the sheer magnitude of the silence

Dear Readers,

Today I am writing this philosophical essay in order to discuss the issue of conflict. Recently, as you might have read from my journal, I have had problems with a group assignment at my college. The issue however is not the mark of the assignment, but rather the problem of my not being satisfied with our B+ grade. Instead, they would like to with the lecturer about remarking it. On the assumption that the system is fair and that human factors aren't pulled into place, this would be a decent venture with only gains and no evident losses. Does this simplistic theory hold in practice? No, of course it do

Arrr maties,

T'day be halloween (it's past midnight so it's officially th' 31st) and therefore, I've prepared a perfect tribute t' this day.

Danny Elfman did the original version of 'This is Halloween' (as I've been reminded many times t'day). Manson did the cover and I used Manson's beat to write the tribute (sorry Elfman fans, th' beat was better xD). Anywho, I tried t' include as many modern references as possible. If ye can identify all of 'em, ye like creepypastas and the mainstream horror stuff. I wanted t' put more obscure creepypasta references, but they didn't fit and not everyone would have gotten them.

In the end, this was the final product.

Happy Halloween t' ye all and t' all a good night.

P.P.P.S. There is a slight difference in the ending, I thought the whee was too weak so it fades off after the last line and its just psychotic La La La's in an increasing volume. I wish DA allowed me to increase font-size, but it doesn't T^T

In terms of vision, these lyrics has an epic scope within its genre, referencing many classic and iconic horrors and thrillers.
While not completely original, these lyrics do at least come from a comparatively underused source; and approaches the theme in a fairly unique way.
The lyrics are technically well written, the bones of the original source giving a solid base to build upon. The references are seamlessly incorporated into the song, giving a smooth finish.
The song benefits from the impact of the original, it strikes a chord with those that know earlier versions of the song, but it also carries the same impact, so those completely new to "This is Halloween" will find it a striking piece of lyricism.
In summary, not the most original work, but very well written nonetheless. Well worth reading.

I think this is really great. At first when readig it I though you just changed a few of the lines around in the song, but then as reading on I noticed it was competly different and its very well writen. The way you discribed things and how it flowed was wonderful. Taking verses from the song was a nice idea as well, i really enjoyed reading it. I dont read much poety or rhymes but this was nice and id like to read much more of what you write, youre very good at it. Keep up the good wrok
