Blood CrusadeBlood Crusade:

They rode upon the backs of thundering horses
for faith had unleashed a terrible beast
These men would offer their souls in service
to the dark unholy priests...

"To what end do we serve our Lord and Master
is justice not the ultimate form of faith?
Should we not stand and fight in his name
to cleanse the Earth of this heathen waste!"

It was these orators, chaplains of faith;
men of the cloth who bore a fire
They lit their brothers with impassioned speeches
fueled by their own desire...

They taught their followers that blood was faith
and devotion was found at the edge of a blade
"Blessed is the mind too small fo

The Enemy WithinThe Enemy Within:

I have nothing that I can give
Cause I was never taught to live
How do I know what is pain?
I disappear into the rain

Carry me on angel's arms
Don't let me ever come to harm
The blade will cut into my skin
I face the enemy within...

And I feel him, and I feel him cry
And I feel him, and I feel him cry

Take me slowly
Are you the man I'm meant be?

Suddenly the lights go out
I open up and try to shout
Gasping out my final cry
Is this how I'm meant to die?

Lead me home once again
Let me face this world and then-
I will try to get control

Dragon BloodForged from the souls of the bravest of men
They are tempered in the flames of eternal war
Ever will they stand against the tides of evil
For the dark shall claim no more

In the burning mountains of the Dragonkin
It is Man who swore a sacred oath
For in exchange for the Dragon's blood
Man must now protect them both

I speak of the legends; these Gods of battle
Warriors clad in suits of steel
They come as champions of a greiving world
And all shall learn to kneel

But not in supplication, nor out of dominance
We kneel in reverence of the bringers of light
These warriors imbued with the Eternal Flame
Shall chase the shadows of nigh

Living a LieLiving a Lie:

I feel like I've awakened from a comatose state
And the world has gone on without me.
I stretch my legs and take a walk outside
And for the very first time I see:

A strange kind of beauty, that is utterly alluring
It calls out to my spirit with the gentlest of cries.
I'm afraid to admit, for it was rather unmanly,
That I left with tears in my eyes...

I can't imagine how I could have forgotten
The very way that I used to walk...
I remember now my habitual actions
And I've even learned to talk!

"Arrr me hearties, good day to ya all
It be a fine day ta sail on tha sea
And if we find a plethora o' treasure;
Then yer

Without JoyA bard may choose to sing a song of happy days and eternal bliss
But why should I sing of happiness, when misery is all that is?
The suffering we see around us, is tantamount to hell
Yet we accept these horrid days; caught within a spell

Perhaps I'm simply being morbid, a soul disturbed by a darker voice
Or perhaps I am the whispered truth; personified by choice.
I will not speak of revelations nor of better days to come
In terms of hope for the future; I'd rather remain mum.

For the world I've seen has shown to me, that pain equates to life
I'm sure you've tried it many times on the edge of a sharpened knife

VinashukaThe cloud that forms above the burning wastes
Hints to many that the dying world breathes.
Beneath the empty morrow that holds the shattered
glass, I see myself whispering 'Vinashuka'.
Cold muttered voices tonguing the edge of my sanity
The creeping walls denote the loss of my inner being
Lick the paper that cuts the tongue into a myriad
of pieces and once again whisper 'Vinashuka'.

But my words will fall on deaf ears and I'm tempted
to once again open myself for torture. For perhaps
the endless grief with which I give myself meaning
will form into the bloodied words of 'Vinashuka'.
This single whispered temptation, a solitary lie

The Secret of the TreesBeneath the glow of the twisting moon, we can feel
a horror beginning its birth. The serpent will slither
into a moistened cave and the blood will spill from broken lips

The secret was hidden beneath the trees, where the lovers
were kissed and never told. Yet the stains remain upon the grass.
Never to be erased...

How many times will I return, to a place I wish
I'd never see. Perhaps it is a way for me
To think of that which I regret...

But the man would never remind himself, of the horror
unleashed beneath falling leaves. The petals bear witness
to the struggled screaming, muffled by hands and feet.

A choking embodiment of sweat

Sweet Little AngelsSweet Little Angels:

You always loved them and cared for them deeply
They were the joy of your life and you held them close.
Until one day, sadly, they were taken from you
and your heart was torn by the pain and grief...

But remember always, that they will watch over you
though you might not feel them presently

You can hear their whispers when the wind is blowing
and you can feel their warmth on the lonely nights

They will always remain in your memories
For that is where you keep a part of them
A loving part that will never fade

Therefore, do not think of them as being 'gone'
Instead take heart in the fact that they are waiting

Blue EyesBlue Eyes:

A man once told me that blue eyes were best
So I decided I would put these words to a test.
I ran across the globe and found a blue eyed fish
It tasted very tasty when served as a dish

I then went to Ireland to find a blue eyed gnome
Instead I got a Lephrechaun whose name was 'Jerome'
I used him as bait to catch some blue eyed mice
I suppose he now regrets that he lost at dice...

I then used the mice to catch a blue eyed cat
I then used the cat to catch a blue eyed dog
I then used the dog to catch a blue eyed witch
I think I left that one down in a ditch...

In any case...

I returned back home to my quaint boulevard

In Service to MorganaIn Service To Morgana:

There are those who would fear a demon's blessing
As they wither beneath its corruptive touch
Yet I am someone who embraces these things
Because the darkness has taught me much...

I have learned of the beauty of dying roses
Turned to dust by a single breath
I have learned of the fear that a man will face
When he is first confronted by death

His contorted features and the screams of his agony
Will peak when he is placed into Morgana's grace
I have learned that even heroes will soil themselves
When they are forced to worship her smiling face

But she is not ugly, nay she is beautiful
She appears like an angel

MotherMother:

The last time that I saw you, I left with bitter words
I never knew how much the things, I said to you would hurt.
And I never wanted to see you; so I tried to shut you out
But a Mother is the one thing that I cannot live without...

I've been to the doctor's room
He tells me I will see you soon
I'm prayin' in the lobby-
Hopin' that you'll be okay...

I never knew that things would be this way...

The first memory I have, is when you used to hold my hand
You taught me how to be a man but I threw it in your face
Still you forgave me and still you believed
But I took your faith and broke it up, like golden autumn leaves...

The Tomb of KhaineThe Tomb of Khaine:

The moans of the shambling horde could be heard
As zombies burst from the depths of the tomb
The Pirates were trapped within the mausoleum;
Caught in the center of a Demon's womb...

It spawned a horror with each contraction
A shuffling parody of tainted life
With flesh that hung in sallow strips;
Carved with the edge of a pus-dripping knife

As more of the beasts spewed forth from the depths
The Captain called for a spark of light
As Haze scattered the explosive dust
A match was thrown to make it ignite

Boom! it exploded with a shock of force
As the Pirates were thrown to the dirty floor
They cleared the spac

A Navigator's TreasureA Navigator's Treasure:

For she who watches the tides of the sea
For she who guides the weary ship.
There is no greater treasure for her
Than a scroll of an ancient writ...

This artifact that we did find
Was stolen from a dragon's behind
Plucked it out from the creature's rear
whilst it nestled the egg that it held dear

So gold and fine was this glorious egg
That soon my mind began to renege
It was filled with thoughts of gold and riches
So tangible that I nearly pissed me britches

Me accent soon began to change
I thought like a thug who was most deranged
Gamblin' at tables would be might fine
With an egg of such a rich design

The Great DrakeHe rose from the ground as the very earth split in a series of jagged scars
Molten lava would burst from these wounds, as his wings eclisped the shimmering stars...
The Great Drake Serogar, once laid to rest in the warm womb of Gaia
Had once again awakened, to discipline those who had earned his ire.

Humans and Dragons were killing each other, senselessly bathing in the coldest of blood
Yet all their efforts amounted to nothing and opened the gates for a terrible flood...
For in the realms of the Nether; where the creatures drank of the dark well of Midnight
A rift had been torn of violence and hatred, spawning the children of Blight.

You Lift Me UpYou Lift Me Up:

When first I fell from the grace of the light
Tumbling endlessly through an uncaring sky
With wings torn from me, blotched and bloodied;
It was time for me to die...

But a bed of flowers, with the scent of lillies;
Caressing my heart with its soothing fragrance
Left me stronger and healed my wounds;
In the dark it was my radiance

It brought me back from the brink of despair
And made me forget that I would never fly
Instead I am content with these broken wings
If I may sleep where you still lie...

Here upon the ground, having faced my judgement
I am calm and collected without burden to bear
Someday I wish to retu

We all have our own little struggles;
Pushing on forward as the tragedies double.
A life led with pain and exhaustion too immense,
I'm pushing down walls as my muscles go tense.

But these are the words that you'll never hear me spit.
I'd never say I'm 'giving up' or if I should 'quit'.
I'm really freaking stupid so just tell it to my face,
And even then I'd never give up the right to race.

I'm like a lone arrow drawn and shot from a bow,
Blustered by the winds of all the things I don't know.
I'd never figure out if I'd reach the final mark,
But I know that I'd never lose my glowing inner spark.

Misery's GardenMisery's Garden:

Through the cold ice we trekked, the Reaper and I.
His face an ever-shifting grin, oscillating between joy and malice...

With quick, light-footed steps, he lead me to a warm green meadow.
A small hut in the distance, a little garden beside.
Where a hunchbacked man, covered in boils and open wounds;
Bearing a crooked jaw and gnarled hands, tilled the earth.

"Egh yew ooh wha gu wan!"

I was so startled by the hunchback's sudden outburst,
That I jumped and gripped the Reaper's cloak in fright,
Yet as soon as he had seen me, the hunchback's eyes glazed over;
He appeared to forget about our presence...

He smiles at you, as you enter the office;
Wearing eyeliner made of contempt and disdain.
His cheap cologne invades your nostrils immediately
And you quickly suppress a cough.

"Yes, yes, indeed we have to review this...er, many things are involved."

His face is powdered with a layer of self-importance;
Lips reddened by the polite harshness he spews.
His forked tongue flickers as he prattles on
And you're really getting quite tired.

"Oh I'm sorry! Of course, of course I understand; but my way is much better!"

You're getting really bored now, so you take a look around the room.

They Watch You Sleep:

There are many bards who can tell you tales
Of the creeping shadows that come at night
We've seen them crawling along the walls
In the absence of the light...

On the darkest of nights, cold and chill
You can hear them quietly gibbering.
They speak of things that you cannot know
Which is why they are always whispering.

It is said that they will know the future
and that they know the fate of every man
They are here to watch his path unfold
or perhaps to have him damned...

These sick and twisted animals
Bear a stench that is rather foul
But you will only smell this scent
if they choose to remove their cowl

It is said that their eyes are like obsidian doorways;
Which hold the key to the depths of the mind.
But none have the courage to look within them;
Afraid of what they'll find...

So my only advice to the weary traveller
Is to believe in the safety of the tavern
Do not look toward the darkest of corners
or you might just stir their cavern...

Arrr maties, I decided ta do a more bard-like tale tonight. Dark as it is, many folk were entertained by frightenin' legends and stories and so I came up with this one. Imagine a poor traveller goin' alone and listenin' to a story like this in a tavern. Not fun I say xD.

Well, you can relate it to a ghost story I guess, that might make it more fun...though I'd probably be scared senseless if a bard read this to me in a creepy voice, then just says the last line normally and walk away. Anyway, love it as always, can't wait for more!
