Battle ScarsBattle Scars:

Sharp claws rake into my skin
as my blood bursts forth to splatter against the ground
The uneven breathing of my foe
tells me that he too is wounded and close to death

I can see his teeth, flecked with frothing saliva
foaming and spitting as he bellows his name
He charges into me, his frame crashing with mine
the impact has me reeling and I fall back against the stone

The ground feels cold
the icy chill seeping into my bones
the warmth of my blood escapes me
and I can feel myself beginning to fade

Up toward the sky I glance
praying that I might receive assistance
I pray that he who commands me, he who stands above

Black feathers falling through the empty sky
A whisper upon the winds, better left unspoken
As a glimmer of sunlight catches my eye
I am drawn to the worms that writhe below

Each one pulses with the desire to live
endlessly tunneling through the sands of the earth
With nothing more for them to give
I'm afraid they are quickly eaten...

One, two, three and four
Each one swallowed by an open door
Five, six, seven, eight
They know not love nor petty hate

It makes me wonder if they feel this pain
of being consumed by the one they fear
They sprout and dance in the lovely rain
Not knowing of that which lurks so near

As The Skies PartedAs The Skies Parted:

As the clouds in the skies parted and fire rained to the earth
The soft keening of the voices trapped within the abyss
resounded throughout the empty plains, as the world prepared itself
to meet a fate no worse than complete and utter oblivion.

The waters turned red with blood and bubbled with a poisonous brew
Whilst the creatures of the mountains, mutated into vicious monstrocities
A pall of darkness, settled around the Earth like a cloak of shadows
and in its grip we knew the true fury of a God gone mad.

Hundreds were slain by the rocks that pummelled the ground
As they fell from the heavens like burning stars
WinterfallWinterfall:

Warm blood drips upon the pearl white snow
freezing into droplets that shine and glow
Red like the colour of his once livid cheeks
It frames the sculpture I have carved on this peak

An artwork made so terrifyingly sublime
I believe that such a thing would be condemned as a crime
But woe betide the unfortunate soul
For the poor man stumbled into the freezing cold...

I remember his features in his moment of death
Hope and despair, intermingled as one
A shine of reality as he opens the door
and steps into the hell from the days of yore

From then he has passed into my loving care
His body as a shell and so I lay it bare
You Lift Me UpYou Lift Me Up:

When first I fell from the grace of the light
Tumbling endlessly through an uncaring sky
With wings torn from me, blotched and bloodied;
It was time for me to die...

But a bed of flowers, with the scent of lillies;
Caressing my heart with its soothing fragrance
Left me stronger and healed my wounds;
In the dark it was my radiance

It brought me back from the brink of despair
And made me forget that I would never fly
Instead I am content with these broken wings
If I may sleep where you still lie...

Here upon the ground, having faced my judgement
I am calm and collected without burden to bear
Someday I wish to retu
A Shattered IllusionA Shattered Illusion:

A day that was born of the brightest light
Has now shattered like crystals in the sinking dark
Where once the spirit was unfettered and free
Now it weeps painfully in a cage of thorns

Blood is drawn from its tender flesh
And drips slowly down to mark the skin
A tattoo of pain forever remembered
By a ghost that lives within

There is emptiness in this void
A cold and lonely song of existence
A solemn note born from the sheer magnitude of the silence
That it deafens both the heart and mind

In the quiet serenity of utter despair
What is born from the lack of a sense of hope?

Let it pierce into my flesh
The cold metal of razors
and let me carve into my skin
a wonderous design of love

Love for the pain which I inflict upon myself
Love for the disgusting toxin which I bleed from deep within me
Love for all the people that remind me everyday of how pointless my existence is

Oh, I'm sorry, did you want to say something too?
Did you want to enjoy of this toxic waste?
This nauseating poisonous sulphurous odious mixture of noxious FUMES!

Ah, but you're one of the normal people aren't you
You can comb your hair without pain
You can dye it any colour you want
You can style it in any manner you pl
The Never-ending MasqueThe Never-ending Masque:

A troupe of dancers, with colourful costumes
Ascends the stage with jaunty smiles
Whilst the eldest member, in a Jester's mask
Narrates the tale in style:

As they begin their dance, these lovely dancers
The skies turn cold and grey...
Arms reach down from the rumbling heavens
And they take our stage away!

Yet the harlequins laugh
And simply dance on the grass
For the show must go on
Until time has passed

Harken brothers, a wicked wind blows!
It stirs from the belly of the unkind beast
It rips our props away from us;
And hopes the dance will cease...

But the Harlequins laugh and continue the show

Drowning in SocietyDrowning in Society:

Cold on the inside...
shivering before the night breaks
I watch myself fall
I hear the devil's call-

He breathes to me, once now, I lose myself and burn again!
He breathes to me, twice now, I lose myself and burn again!

This feeling of the ocean surrounding me
Drown in the oil of vile society
It clings and takes the life right out of me
Drown in the love of vile society...

Break down, constructed
Break down, conflicted
Break down, constructed

We live our lives in hopes of growing wings
Pure white until they're stained by everything
Leave all that you hope for far behind
Let darkne
DenialDenial:

He stands before the mountains
and sighs, knowing that they reach toward the heavens
He begins his climb
his hands soon bloodied, his fingers digging into the hardened stone

He continues to drag himself
against the crags that scrape against his peeling skin
Unwilling to end his climb prematurely
though the rocks continue to slice into his flesh

Blood is drawn with a single desperate gasp
as pain rings out throughout his frame
His feet tremble and his hands grow numb
but still he continues to climb ever higher...

The winds threaten to throw him from the face of the mountain
and they slowly begin to waste him away

Sweet Little AngelsSweet Little Angels:

You always loved them and cared for them deeply
They were the joy of your life and you held them close.
Until one day, sadly, they were taken from you
and your heart was torn by the pain and grief...

But remember always, that they will watch over you
though you might not feel them presently

You can hear their whispers when the wind is blowing
and you can feel their warmth on the lonely nights

They will always remain in your memories
For that is where you keep a part of them
A loving part that will never fade

Therefore, do not think of them as being 'gone'
Instead take heart in the fact that they are waiting
Shot to HellShot to Hell:

You know, I should probably be angry about all this
I mean, I am dead after all...
Still, I suppose there could be worse things in life

Of course, it did hurt you know; when you shot me
Oh my god! I thought I've just been shot!
The bleeding wasn't the worst part of the ordeal though
Instead, the worst part of entire situation was the feeling of slowly dying
the feeling of losing the life inside your body...

Some might say that it feels like being buried in a blizzard
but for me, it was more like jumping head first into an icy sea
I couldn't move and I couldn't speak...
all I could do was to simply hang there limp and
Immortal ButterflyImmortal Butterfly:

I remember the Immortal Butterfly
Translucent wings that drank from the sky
Glittering dust would fall with every flap
Like warm tears dripped upon my tiny back

I would always chase this butterfly
as it makes its way across the sky
When I look I feel as though I can forget
The painful needles that twist into my back

I would always dream of this butterfly
and I wonder if I could ride it and fly in the sky
When I dream about it, I don't regret
Not being able to leave this tiny bed

Sometimes I can't see the butterfly
My vision turns grey like a stormy sky
I get scared during those times, because it makes me thi

Your lips remain painted with the scars of torment
Carved so as to split with every word of speech
The glass that slices through your softened flesh
Bears the marking we know as 'Vinashuka'

And now he lies beneath the falling sand
Drowning in a world that is sinking away
Though his feet will seek the stability of ground
He finds himself caught by 'Vinashuka'

A disturbing word that rings hollow at best
For it carries the tone of a tainted solitude
A heart that has been corrupted by physical pain
Can only scream 'Vinashuka!'

How does a man know when he has gone insane?
To descend into a world where logic is na

I feel like I've awakened from a comatose state
And the world has gone on without me.
I stretch my legs and take a walk outside
And for the very first time I see:

A strange kind of beauty, that is utterly alluring
It calls out to my spirit with the gentlest of cries.
I'm afraid to admit, for it was rather unmanly,
That I left with tears in my eyes...

I can't imagine how I could have forgotten
The very way that I used to walk...
I remember now my habitual actions
And I've even learned to talk!

There are many bards who can tell you tales
Of the creeping shadows that come at night

A Tale of Pirates 10==EVENT SEQUENCE==

Aisuru considered the various missions available and settled for the one he felt most strongly about. "I won't allow any scum, rat or otherwise, to take hostages of those who are unable to defend themselves!" Aisuru growled. He rolled 9(+2 INT), and ran off to find out who was kidnapped and why. George the Lieutenant decides to accompany him. "SNATCHING CHILDREN! ATTACKING CIVILIANS! This makes my blood boil," George, full of rage, rolls 15 and stalks off, swords drawn, to hunt down the amoral rats. he informs Aisuru that he will head to the guard house first and question the local Captain.

Upon reaching the guard househe

They rode upon the backs of thundering horses
for faith had unleashed a terrible beast
These men would offer their souls in service
to the dark unholy priests...

"To what end do we serve our Lord and Master
is justice not the ultimate form of faith?

to cleanse the Earth of this heathen waste!"

It was these orators, chaplains of faith;
men of the cloth who bore a fire
They lit their brothers with impassioned speeches
fueled by their own desire...

They taught their followers that blood was faith

a horror beginning its birth. The serpent will slither

The secret was hidden beneath the trees, where the lovers
were kissed and never told. Yet the stains remain upon the grass.
Never to be erased...

How many times will I return, to a place I wish
I'd never see. Perhaps it is a way for me
To think of that which I regret...

But the man would never remind himself, of the horror
unleashed beneath falling leaves. The petals bear witness
to the struggled screaming, muffled by hands and feet.

A choking embodiment of sweat
VinashukaThe cloud that forms above the burning wastes
Hints to many that the dying world breathes.
Beneath the empty morrow that holds the shattered
glass, I see myself whispering 'Vinashuka'.
Cold muttered voices tonguing the edge of my sanity
The creeping walls denote the loss of my inner being
Lick the paper that cuts the tongue into a myriad
of pieces and once again whisper 'Vinashuka'.

But my words will fall on deaf ears and I'm tempted
to once again open myself for torture. For perhaps
the endless grief with which I give myself meaning
will form into the bloodied words of 'Vinashuka'.
This single whispered temptation, a solitary lie

The Simple Delights:

The world is a place of simple pleasures
of the simple delights that we fail to see
Like a rose whose thorns will prick unwary
we focus on the negatives that be

But if we chose to hold the rose
Gentle and with grace
Its thorns would simply press our skin
Not pain or poison laced

If we could learn the simple lessons
of looking at all the good things in life
Then food would be the only object
to meet the edge of my knife

I see so many different ways
to enjoy the life that I have today
I could go to the store and buy a snack
A treat for me I say

Perhaps I'll choose to walk the distance
or maybe I'll take the bus this morn
But none can take the simple pleasure
of the rising sun at dawn

The simple things are what I wish to share
For like my heart, they are always true
and if you were here, sitting beside me
then I'd share this sunrise with you

To my dearest readers, friends and fans,

I am asking my co-captain to post this author's comment on my behalf, as I am still extremely busy with school work. I hope to return officially by next week, but that will depend on my current school burdens. In the mean time however, I have decided to use my filler releases to the best of their ability, in order to personally tailor my poetry to better suit the readers.

The reason for this comes from a few conversations I've had with fans, who indicated to me that despite my releases being 'filler' releases, they actually enjoyed the work and felt that it was worth reading.

This then prompted both Hayes and I to try and take into account the tastes of the reader, as we continue to provide you all with entertainment, poetry and feels all around. As such, we hope that you will take a moment to favourite the filler works that you genuinely like (as we continue to release them), so that we can obtain a measure of whether or not you like a particular style and genre.

With this data, I hope to produce even better works once I officially return and in that way, we hope to provide you with quality poetry that you would actually enjoy reading. Word of Chen has always focused exclusively on the tastes of its readers, because the support and love of our fans and friends has been the most important factor in getting me to where I am today.

So to end this comment, thank you all for reading my works and I hope to get back to properly entertaining you soon.
