Broken and bloodied on the inside;
My world is coloured in shades of black.
But I've never understood the reason
For why I've got these scars on my back...

Cigarette burns are nothing new to my body
I took a lash from the whip just yesterday.
Why are you staring at me with those eyes again;
Is there something you'd like to say?

I've never been told to speak a word of my pain
And so I learned that I shouldn't speak...
'You'd better not say a single thing to her!'
Maybe I'm just scared and weak...

I often run to a place that's far away;
It's just a little corner inside my mind.
I've tried to forget it again

What happened to your hopes,
What happened your dreams?

This is an issue very close to my heart, so I'll be putting it into rhyme:

Hang on a moment, STOP!
And think in the frame,
You pickin' up that glass,
With a hint of disdain.

Knocking back the shots,
One, two, nine, twenty!
You're pukin' in the alley,
And the scent is heavy!

Every moment that you pass off as some fun,
It's like you're playing tag at the point of a gun!

I'm sick and tired,
Watching you sink into despair.
Your life is in the gutter,
But you're already there!

Now how do you escape this,
What is the truth?
You're blinded by the lies,
That you think is the proof!

Born from the kiss of a goddess
And drenched in the cauldron of lies.
He emerged as a being of entropy
Bearing the mark of flies...

His wings were made from crow-like feathers
Black as the dust of the night.
His fangs were laden with horrid infection
Made from the stone of blight.

A single bite, was poison enough
And soon they began to change...
The children loved by the lady in white
Soon they became deranged.

Powerful beings of might and magic
They soared through the moonlit sky!
They flew amongst the twinkling stars
But their gift was a burning lie...

Beautiful people, you see and believe
But don't you know that they are rife with disease?
Little maggots, that crawl in their flesh
They walk around with a hole in their chest.

They try to pull you, they push you to be
They make a horror; now it's staring at me!
Abomination in the mirror you see
Are you so sick, that you cannot believe?

Oh! These beautiful people, they make you believe,
But you don't want to catch their horrid disease

You hear the lies on their putrid breath.

Now! They tell you how to live and how you should be

You feel like things have gone into the ground
When everything is gone and crashing down.
You took your pain and tried to make it end
But give me one more chance to hold your hand...

See I will believe it...
I know you're strong inside
Just try once to see it
You will believe that-

You will be alright,
And we are all here by your side
We'll take you through those painful days
We soar like birds and fly away hey!

Lovely. Very encouraging! I used to try to write poetry when I was younger, but now I re-read some of the stuff I wrote and shudder in horror. It's just terrible!
