The Great DrakeHe rose from the ground as the very earth split in a series of jagged scars
Molten lava would burst from these wounds, as his wings eclisped the shimmering stars...
The Great Drake Serogar, once laid to rest in the warm womb of Gaia
Had once again awakened, to discipline those who had earned his ire.

Humans and Dragons were killing each other, senselessly bathing in the coldest of blood
Yet all their efforts amounted to nothing and opened the gates for a terrible flood...
For in the realms of the Nether; where the creatures drank of the dark well of Midnight
A rift had been torn of violence and hatred, spawning the children of Blight.

Rest My Sweetest DarlingSweetest little dragon child, with a tiny broken wing
For you it is a solemn song that we are made to sing.
Your parents fought to save you, but here it is you lie
My sweetest little dragon child, why did you have to die?

There are no words to capture grief, nor the mourning in our hearts
I never thought that we were meant to be easily torn apart...
No pain in life could have ever prepared us, for the pain we faced today
My child I wish you could hear the words that we truly long to say

We wish we could have taught you, about the flowers in the spring
We wish we could have showed you, the homes of our kin...
We wish we could have lo

Dragon BloodForged from the souls of the bravest of men
They are tempered in the flames of eternal war
Ever will they stand against the tides of evil
For the dark shall claim no more

In the burning mountains of the Dragonkin
It is Man who swore a sacred oath
For in exchange for the Dragon's blood
Man must now protect them both

I speak of the legends; these Gods of battle
Warriors clad in suits of steel
They come as champions of a greiving world
And all shall learn to kneel

But not in supplication, nor out of dominance
We kneel in reverence of the bringers of light
These warriors imbued with the Eternal Flame
Shall chase the shadows of nigh

The FarseerThe Farseer:

Born from the union of an Angel and a Witch
The farseer is a creature of terrible might.
Granted the wisdom of his blessed father;
He bears the gift of a clairvoyant's sight...

His eyes can pierce the veil of uncertainty
And look beyond into the crystal of fate...
The myriad of futures reflected in its surface;
Is his to acknowledge and collate.

He scribes them down in an enchanted book
It is titled 'The Tome of Dying Shades'.
For as the future becomes the present;
The scribbled pages fade...

It is for this reason that he may never lie
Else the future would shatter; to be born anew.

Blood CrusadeBlood Crusade:

They rode upon the backs of thundering horses
for faith had unleashed a terrible beast
These men would offer their souls in service
to the dark unholy priests...

"To what end do we serve our Lord and Master
is justice not the ultimate form of faith?
Should we not stand and fight in his name
to cleanse the Earth of this heathen waste!"

It was these orators, chaplains of faith;
men of the cloth who bore a fire
They lit their brothers with impassioned speeches
fueled by their own desire...

They taught their followers that blood was faith
and devotion was found at the edge of a blade

Cold Lying CreatureCold Lying Creature:

Cold and arrogant slithering beast, your tongue is forked with lies
Do you intend to take my dignity or perhaps to sully my eyes?
No matter how much you speak of warmth; affection, care or love
I know that you are simple twisted; an assassin from above

Did you think I would not see the truth, or perhaps you thought me blind?
Perhaps you felt you could deceive this man, for he is simply kind
Woe is me the naive fool, taken in by your stories of harder times
Sadly my dear, I'm an utter sadist and the punishment will fit the crime.

I will lash your body, with the best of whips; let the leather bite in close

They Watch You SleepThey Watch You Sleep:

There are many bards who can tell you tales
Of the creeping shadows that come at night
We've seen them crawling along the walls
In the absence of the light...

On the darkest of nights, cold and chill
You can hear them quietly gibbering.
They speak of things that you cannot know
Which is why they are always whispering.

It is said that they will know the future
and that they know the fate of every man
They are here to watch his path unfold
or perhaps to have him damned...

These sick and twisted animals
Bear a stench that is rather foul
But you will only smell this scent
if they choose to remove their cowl

Wings of DespairWings of Despair:

A momentary glance toward the birds in the sky;
Makes me feel like I am soaring; with a hope to fly.
But the chilling winds that wrap me, reflect the cold of this day
And the icy frost that batters me, chips me away...

It drains the very breath from me, as though the ice is locked within
I feel my hope is fading again; like a jar of captured wind...
Where once my will was strong and boundless; now it sits on broken wastes
I must admit this crushing despair, it feels as bad as it tastes....

From the moment that I acquired them, these were ugly tattered wings
They were made from my despair, and bound in bitter string

Without JoyA bard may choose to sing a song of happy days and eternal bliss
But why should I sing of happiness, when misery is all that is?
The suffering we see around us, is tantamount to hell
Yet we accept these horrid days; caught within a spell

Perhaps I'm simply being morbid, a soul disturbed by a darker voice
Or perhaps I am the whispered truth; personified by choice.
I will not speak of revelations nor of better days to come
In terms of hope for the future; I'd rather remain mum.

For the world I've seen has shown to me, that pain equates to life
I'm sure you've tried it many times on the edge of a sharpened knife

The Witch HunterThe Witch Hunter:

The morning is cold with a solemn chill
As the black wagon rolls into town.
The people are silent, like a funeral wake;
Their eyes never leave the ground...

The choked rasp of hindered breathing
Can be heard as he emerges from within.
The priest bearing the book of executions;
It is bound with the blackest strings...

Let evil be destroyed on this lovely day
The priest growls with a twisted grin.
He signals to his companion, who steps out lightly
This man shall purge this town of sin!

The priest then opens the book and waits;
His companion simply gazes into the crowd.
He looks as though he is listening;

The spirits whisper on a chilling wind
As the blood continues to flow.
I can hear the demons screaming within
As the darkness continues to grow...

Humankind will always be foolish;
Rash decisions are an instinctive need.
But how could they have forgotten our ways;
Tradition is lost to greed...

The zealous will kill the innocent again
As the greedy play out a game of chess.
A book of gods becomes a creed;
It is a ragged shell at best...

My sisters die in the tens of hundreds
And innocent girls are slaughtered like swine.
I'm afraid that in this dying world;

VinashukaThe cloud that forms above the burning wastes
Hints to many that the dying world breathes.
Beneath the empty morrow that holds the shattered
glass, I see myself whispering 'Vinashuka'.
Cold muttered voices tonguing the edge of my sanity
The creeping walls denote the loss of my inner being
Lick the paper that cuts the tongue into a myriad
of pieces and once again whisper 'Vinashuka'.

But my words will fall on deaf ears and I'm tempted
to once again open myself for torture. For perhaps
the endless grief with which I give myself meaning
will form into the bloodied words of 'Vinashuka'.
This single whispered temptation, a solitary lie

The Secret GardenThe Secret Garden:

To those who are waiting in the silent shadows;
To the sisters I've been trying so hard to find.
It is time we came together as one
For here we shall leave the past behind...

In this secret garden, my voice is clear
Soft and gentle like the flowing wind.
Yet here I am; a dirty spirit
A simple soul that sinned...

Gathered in silence, bearing cowls of night
You've come like moths, to a burning light.
These lovely witchlings, so tender and lush
Soon I will give you, a blessed blush...

Take my marking into your flesh
And bear the stigma of our ancient creed...

The skies turned bloody, as the smell of death wafted through the air;
Those yet to be consumed by the madness, stood dumbfounded in the streets
They stared at the sky and into the glimmering eye of Tashorak
Who in the moments of his birth, consumed the stars that surrounded him

The Moon was all that stood in his way, for she would not let her people die
Yet though she fought with all of her might, she too was eventually consumed...
The Sun watched helpless, for he was powerless during the Eternal Night
Yet though he could not act directly; he could send others to act in his stead

I feel like I've awakened from a comatose state
And the world has gone on without me.

A Tale of Pirates 1A Tale of Pirates 1:

It was a cold night one winter's eve as a single cloaked figure walked out from the 'Seedy Folks' tavern.

This man, was none other than Chenbeard himself. The fiercest pirate in the seven seas of literature. Said to be born from a merchant on the Eastern Coast of Bai Long, he chose the pirate's life after murdering his an entire city in cold blood.

Betrayed by his old crew, and left with naught but his Black Fedora and the clothes on his back. He decided to begin his journey anew. But first, he would need help and funds.

Hence the Captain decided to go, monster hunting...

Fear the Dragon Call

A storm of lighting breaks the sky as the dragons begin to stir and wake
Their roar will thunder across the mountains as the very earth will shake
These ancient beasts of might and magic, are fury and strength personified!
How many of you will remember the days when we were told to hide?

Our mothers would wrap us in special blankets and calm us down with song
We would cower in holes like tiny rats whilst our parents acted strong
The Dragon would burn our homes away and all would turn to dust and ash
Our entire lives would be swallowed up! In a single crimson flash...

It used to be a time of darkness, where a man would live in constant fear
Yet we have found a special way, to protect the lives that we hold dear
My friends I must now present to you the warriors of the Chosen Eight
A group of our honoured champions, who will slay the beasts we hate!

Now they ride for the Volcanic Wastes where the Dragon call has sounded!
Before the beast can stand its ground they will have it fully surrounded
One month from now, on this very day, they will bring us back a head
A final proof of the ultimate deed; for we will know the beast is dead

Arrr and thus Dragon Week begins with "FEAR THE DRAGON CALL"

However, I've always chosen to portray the opposite side as the victim, meanin' werewolves and vampires.

This time, I decided to follow the old scheme of myths and portray the humans as the victims, but I also intend to mix it up.

I hope that Dragon Week will be a wonderful experience for all of you.
