Ladies and gentlewolves, I come before you today,
To speak on an issue that is close to our hearts.
For many centuries, we Wolves have struggled;
Continuing to seek a final solution to 'the Human Problem'.

Many of you might have heard of the horror stories,
Of these furless creatures lurking in the outer reaches.
Some cities have found them living in underground caverns;
Preying upon the young pups that stray too close to their nests.

It is sad, to say the least, but that sorrow ends today;
For it is my privilege and honour as Chairman of Lycanthropes United,
To unveil our newest means of combating this parasiti

Yes sir, he is clinging to insanity.
He remembers all the things he said, profanity.
Bare the shame on his naked old humanity.
He is the doll claiming love for his vanity-

When he woke up, desire!

But what are you thinking of this man as I make him out?
Is it an image or a type that you seem to tout.
was it all his fault with no one else to blame,
Or were there cracks in the story that they both will claim-

The Pirate SolsticeThe Pirate Solstice:

There is tale around the Galbin Coast,
Of a black ship that appeared on the Winter Solstice.
It arrived at a town near Bismarch,
Struck heavily by famine and crop plagues.

The ship drifted silently upon the ocean currents,
Not a creak nor groan could be heard from its frame.
It docked at the port like an ominous reaper's vessel;
A metallic boarding ramp - much like a daemon's tongue -
Slithered slowly from its deck to meet with wooden jetty.

The crew descended, wearing black cloaks and black hats,
Fedoras, I believe they were called.
These figures made little noise as they moved,

Through the cold ice we trekked, the Reaper and I.
His face an ever-shifting grin, oscillating between joy and malice...

With quick, light-footed steps, he lead me to a warm green meadow.
A small hut in the distance, a little garden beside.
Where a hunchbacked man, covered in boils and open wounds;
Bearing a crooked jaw and gnarled hands, tilled the earth.

I was so startled by the hunchback's sudden outburst,
That I jumped and gripped the Reaper's cloak in fright,
Yet as soon as he had seen me, the hunchback's eyes glazed over;
He appeared to forget about our presence...

As The Skies PartedAs The Skies Parted:

As the clouds in the skies parted and fire rained to the earth
The soft keening of the voices trapped within the abyss
resounded throughout the empty plains, as the world prepared itself
to meet a fate no worse than complete and utter oblivion.

The waters turned red with blood and bubbled with a poisonous brew
Whilst the creatures of the mountains, mutated into vicious monstrocities
A pall of darkness, settled around the Earth like a cloak of shadows
and in its grip we knew the true fury of a God gone mad.

Hundreds were slain by the rocks that pummelled the ground
As they fell from the heavens like burning stars

They said 'you better run or you're caught in the Witch's spell...'

When I was young I was taught that pain begets pain,
Anger and animosity, malice and cruelty;
So deeply inflicted, so lovingly gifted.
I tasted of its rotten core and dared to call it sweet.

But what do I have to show for it?
White hot scars that burn in my dreams.
Reminders of a fragmented bi-polar self;
Self inflicted propaganda, to reinforce the "truth".

Truth so lovingly fabricated by a weakness within,
So desperately crying out for vindication;
Openly denying all that might shed light upon me,

I close my eyes, as the black smoke fills the air.
Incense burned to create a semi-choking sensation.
A tiny inkling of the perceived suffering,
But it is enough to make this difficult...

Next, wounds are carefully opened.

Resembling the nine circles of suffering.
As each begins to form a red river,

In the distance I hear the cackling of witches;

Alrighty so, I was thinkin' of somethin' t' write t'night, but with me mind focused on the e-book, good poetry just isn't comin' out.

However I figured this would be th' right time t' experiment with my newly invented technique t' combat writing slumps.

First of, when ye in a slump, it's cause yer brain is overheated. Like a clogged pipe things aren't flowing through. The only way to clean it out is blast through the blockage by writing like crazy. However if ye write long works, ye'll only go crazier.

The solution?

Write shorter poems, haikus, whatever you can get flowing in the shortest time possible. For me, I like haikus and I rarely get the chance to do them. Now I think I'll play around t' me heart's content.

One thing to note though is that the last line is 4 syllables instead of 5. Why? It simply sounded better with 4. Although the form for haikus is generally rigid, occasionally you can get a better result twisting the form ever so slightly. I want to try 6,8,6 and other numbers as well :3

Simple, but effective. Just reading those three lines reminds of Yami, the king of eternal darkness from Okami. In the game, Okami's true form is actually a seal, symbolizing that evil can come from the smallest of souls, and this poem only exemplifies that notion.
