Behind the Eyepatch:

A simple eyepatch
Worn to hide deformity
Becomes its symbol

-Chen Yuan Wen, 30th May 2012
Today one of my watchers and I discussed the fact that as "Chenbeard the Pirate" I really ought to be wearing an eyepatch.

I said that if I wanted to wear one I would wear what Beatrix from FF9 wears because let's face it, that's FABULOUS xD.

All in all I decided I would just release this haiku as a bonus release, suggested by :iconlyrajolt: and since it is not a main release I won't bother with the usual group submissions or fave begging, it's just for the fans to enjoy really xD.

Um, that said, tomorrow I will be making an official release. Details will be in the journal along with even more bonus incentives for my favers because I love giving back to the community and it kind of lights a fire under me arse when I'm just taking and not giving back ^^

Enjoy this piece, I'm going to crash.

Also, to those who want a spoiler on the meaning of the poem (though it probably isn't too hard to derive since i didn't use anything subtle):

Basically alot of individuals in life wear an "eyepatch" sort of a way of hiding horrendous scars. This can be related to the mask that many individual wear in their day to day life, not showing the problems that lie beneath the surface. I used to be like that, until I found people I could trust like my honey, my crew, my friends and many others.

I realised that though we wear these masks to hide our problems, they in fact become an open alert and those of us who know the pain will always try and help those who feel that pain, as and when we can ^^

This is probably the best haiku I've ever heard.
