A Parody of RomanceA Parody of Romance:

Often I see a number of poets
Who speak of love as an ephemeral thing
An ethereal problem, that lasts for a moment
And yet it leaves a sting...

Boring! I say, there is no fun in that
I need to create a different feel
So let me offer you a parody, my love-sick friend
Of the love that you thought was real:

-switch accents here to a standard african american rapper-

See, the thing I love about a girl
Is when she got a booty shinin' like a blindin' pearl
All the flash gear she wearin' just accentuate
And her rack make all the girlies wanna hate

She sway into the club and now she drop it low
She got my pants in
A Shattered IllusionA Shattered Illusion:

A day that was born of the brightest light
Has now shattered like crystals in the sinking dark
Where once the spirit was unfettered and free
Now it weeps painfully in a cage of thorns

Blood is drawn from its tender flesh
And drips slowly down to mark the skin
A tattoo of pain forever remembered
By a ghost that lives within

There is emptiness in this void
A cold and lonely song of existence
A solemn note born from the sheer magnitude of the silence
That it deafens both the heart and mind

In the quiet serenity of utter despair
What is born from the lack of a sense of hope?
A cold determination to steal the f
The Tomb of KhaineThe Tomb of Khaine:

The moans of the shambling horde could be heard
As zombies burst from the depths of the tomb
The Pirates were trapped within the mausoleum;
Caught in the center of a Demon's womb...

It spawned a horror with each contraction
A shuffling parody of tainted life
With flesh that hung in sallow strips;
Carved with the edge of a pus-dripping knife

As more of the beasts spewed forth from the depths
The Captain called for a spark of light
As Haze scattered the explosive dust
A match was thrown to make it ignite

Boom! it exploded with a shock of force
As the Pirates were thrown to the dirty floor
They cleared the spac
You Lift Me UpYou Lift Me Up:

When first I fell from the grace of the light
Tumbling endlessly through an uncaring sky
With wings torn from me, blotched and bloodied;
It was time for me to die...

But a bed of flowers, with the scent of lillies;
Caressing my heart with its soothing fragrance
Left me stronger and healed my wounds;
In the dark it was my radiance

It brought me back from the brink of despair
And made me forget that I would never fly
Instead I am content with these broken wings
If I may sleep where you still lie...

Here upon the ground, having faced my judgement
I am calm and collected without burden to bear
Someday I wish to retu
In Service to MorganaIn Service To Morgana:

There are those who would fear a demon's blessing
As they wither beneath its corruptive touch
Yet I am someone who embraces these things
Because the darkness has taught me much...

I have learned of the beauty of dying roses
Turned to dust by a single breath
I have learned of the fear that a man will face
When he is first confronted by death

His contorted features and the screams of his agony
Will peak when he is placed into Morgana's grace
I have learned that even heroes will soil themselves
When they are forced to worship her smiling face

But she is not ugly, nay she is beautiful
She appears like an angel
Whispers of the MadWhispers of the Mad:

Your lips remain painted with the scars of torment
Carved so as to split with every word of speech
The glass that slices through your softened flesh
Bears the marking we know as 'Vinashuka'

And now he lies beneath the falling sand
Drowning in a world that is sinking away
Though his feet will seek the stability of ground
He finds himself caught by 'Vinashuka'

A disturbing word that rings hollow at best
For it carries the tone of a tainted solitude
A heart that has been corrupted by physical pain
Can only scream 'Vinashuka!'

How does a man know when he has gone insane?
To descend into a world where logic is na
Breaking FreeBreaking Free:

I sit here waiting, in the coldest of cells
Outside I hear them screaming for blood
I know that they mean to kill me soon
Yet somehow my spirit remains resolved and calm

As they march me to the gallows, wrapped in chains
I grin knowingly as they force me to kneel
Each and every man in the audience, waits for this moment
They know that something is about to change!

An eldritch wind ripples through the air
And I can feel it wrapping around my beating heart
It makes me feel like breaking the conventions:
The ones that I've torn apart...

And as they make me bow before the guillotine
I can feel a sense of unrivaled exc
Can You Accept Me?Can You Accept Me?:

I'll admit I've done my share of things
Of which I know I can never be proud
And I've tried my best to be a better man;
But I guess I can't right now

The mistakes I've made are pretty clear to me
It's not like I can just wipe a 'tat'
The symbols that go all around my body;
And the numbers on my back...

They're all reminders of who I used to be
What I used to do and how I used to live
But that man just isn't me anymore;
And I need a chance that only you can give

I guess what I really want to say is that:
I'm trying my hardest to change for better
And I need to know that you can forgive me
And so I'm sending
JudgementJudgement:

You are a mewling coward and weakling
Offal to the world, yet too arrogant to admit it!
Unbridled by the feelings of shame and guilt;
A man who was naught but a self-serving sycophant...
Remember the days that you used to spend
Envious of others who worked harder than you
More and more you would curse at their backs
It was an act that blackened your tongue and soul!
Now as you gaze into the maw of the inferno
Endlessly waiting for the judge's call

Read the first letter of every line, and know the fate for which you fall.

She Waits For MeShe Waits For Me:

Her touch is mercilessly chilling
When she appears inside my room
I can hear her gibbering softly
As she mutters words of doom

The lady pushing the brink of delusion
I am cornered to the edge of my waning sanity!
I shatter mirrors and reflective surfaces
To preserve some sense of humanity

Yet they say my delirium is a mere illusion...
Ha! They judge the things that they cannot see
She comes to me in depths of the night
Because she knows I cannot flee

Do you know the feeling of waking up
With her grinning face before me?
Rotting teeth and swollen flesh;
It would be better not to see!

But tonight I shall end t
An Epic LegendAn Epic Legend:

The skies turned bloody, as the smell of death wafted through the air;
Those yet to be consumed by the madness, stood dumbfounded in the streets
They stared at the sky and into the glimmering eye of Tashorak
Who in the moments of his birth, consumed the stars that surrounded him

The Moon was all that stood in his way, for she would not let her people die
Yet though she fought with all of her might, she too was eventually consumed...
The Sun watched helpless, for he was powerless during the Eternal Night
Yet though he could not act directly; he could send others to act in his stead

The first was an Elf, Auroch Vasira,
Black and YellowBlack and Yellow:

See the black hats, with the war paint
The guards are runnin' scared but you know the girls ain't
Soon as we hit the docks, look at all them sailors face
Drop the anchor once and make the ocean shake
Suede insides, with mah rudder roarin'
It's the big ship, you know what I paid for it (for it)
And I got an engine made of metal
Sails unfurl, I'm checkin' game, I'm ballin' out on every level...

Hear them haters talk, but there's nothing you can tell
We're the pirates of the seas and we always fell em
No love for them other crews, we breakin' hearts
Black Fedoras, push to start!

[Chorus:]
Yeah ah ha, you know what
Arguing With A MirrorArguing With A Mirror:

Ah greetings mister Chen, to what do I owe this dubious pleasure?

Don't play around with me man, you know I'm outta material...

Oh? So it would seem that our mighty street thug has finally come crashing down
Have you come to apologise for putting me aside?
Perhaps you finally realised how important I am for creativity

Say whatever you want pal, but I need some juice and I need it now!

And what makes you think I'll help you this time?
If you recall correctly Chen, was it not you who pushed me out?
As far as I remember, you said you wanted to be "real"
You said that my "expertise" was not currently needed

What
They Watch You SleepThey Watch You Sleep:

There are many bards who can tell you tales
Of the creeping shadows that come at night
We've seen them crawling along the walls
In the absence of the light...

On the darkest of nights, cold and chill
You can hear them quietly gibbering.
They speak of things that you cannot know
Which is why they are always whispering.

It is said that they will know the future
and that they know the fate of every man
They are here to watch his path unfold
or perhaps to have him damned...

These sick and twisted animals
Bear a stench that is rather foul
But you will only smell this scent
if they choose to remove their cowl

The Never-ending MasqueThe Never-ending Masque:

A troupe of dancers, with colourful costumes
Ascends the stage with jaunty smiles
Whilst the eldest member, in a Jester's mask
Narrates the tale in style:

As they begin their dance, these lovely dancers
The skies turn cold and grey...
Arms reach down from the rumbling heavens
And they take our stage away!

Yet the harlequins laugh
And simply dance on the grass
For the show must go on
Until time has passed

Harken brothers, a wicked wind blows!
It stirs from the belly of the unkind beast
It rips our props away from us;
And hopes the dance will cease...

But the Harlequins laugh and continue the show

The Sea of DeathThe Sea of Death:

We weathered the dreaded maelstrom,
As the sea displayed her rage.
She danced like a fevered puppet,
Upon her deadly stage...

Within her swirling currents,
My men were cast aside.
Drawn into her hungry maw,
It was then and there they died.

Never had I seen such a thing,
It spoke of darkness before my eyes,
A serpent rose from the watery depths,
As lightning boiled from the skies.

It's screaming call was as a banshee's wail,
It stole the life from our shrieking lips,
Like the chilling touch of death itself,
We fell like slaves before the whips...

Darkness came and darkness went,
My eyes opened to the morning

A Pirate Makes a Poem:

Apparently all it takes
Ta get ye works ta slake
Is a simple scheme o' rhyme
Which takes a minute o' time

Perhaps I'll do the same
It's fair ta play this game
No meanin' in tha words
They just flop around like birds

"Oh this stuff it speaks to me!"
Really is that true?
I'm afraid ye might be daft me thinks
Ye certainly be loose a screw

For if works do not have meanin'
Then they're simply done and dull
I think I'd rather spend me time
Playin' dice in a golden skull

I suppose that what tha people want
Is a simple kind o' style
One that looks as good as ale
But tastes like bricks and bile

Arrr maties,

Just doin' me warm-ups for Random Week. I was thinkin' that recently, a lot of poets don't really challenge themselves. There are very few poets that I bother ta recognise, because (although it comes from different poets each time) i always end up seein' a string of poems about love, friendship and eventually loss. Not to say that this is bad, everyone writes works like these; it's how ye start ta get inta tha swing of things. Yet, there are those that repeat it over and over as if there is only one technique. Really? I don't believe that's the case.

So to demonstrate, here is a little poet, written from a drunk pirate. Enjoy the laughs everyone :3
