A Glass of Total Poison:
This is an issue very close to my heart, so I'll be putting it into rhyme:
Hang on a moment, STOP!
And think in the frame,
You pickin' up that glass,
With a hint of disdain.
Knocking back the shots,
One, two, nine, twenty!
You're pukin' in the alley,
And the scent is heavy!
Every moment that you pass off as some fun,
It's like you're playing tag at the point of a gun!
I'm sick and tired,
Watching you sink into despair.
Your life is in the gutter,
But you're already there!
Now how do you escape this,
What is the truth?
You're blinded by the lies,
That you think is the proof!
Every time,
You lookin' down into the glass...
You stare,
At a demon and it may be your last!
You better start waking,
To the smell of your breath,
Or the alcohol WILL,
Be the reason for death...

Lost and Found
Here I am walking around aimlessly
Scars surround every part of my body
Lies are all that I seem to know
Tears no longer come out
Just the supreme silence
I walk for what seems to be forever
I lose the strength that I have to stand
I was done, I was done with trying
I wanted to sit and rot
But there you were
The flickering light in my hurt eyes
You came for me...came running
At this close to dead corpse
You whispered thoughts of hope- often true thoughts
It was never merely flattery, and overreacted words
Nor was it fake for secret intentions
It was honest, kind, true
You are the only one that makes me feel

I am too sterile and static
I can feel you walking away
Into the arms of the man who burns
But then again why would you stay
He is so young and beautiful
He lives life while I rehearse
Acting upon his desires
While I write about mine in verse
Our love was Russian roulette
Without bullets in the chamber
Passing the gun back and forth
Without any sense of danger
The fire in your heart has gone now
This cliché is not lost on me
Metaphorically I'm the water
That dampened our destiny
You said you would never leave me
But this contract was never binding
I want you to find your freedom
If there's a freedom worth finding

My Masquerade
~My Masquerade~
For the world I am displayed;
They always watch but cannot see
through my masquerade.
I feel every moment fly;
My heart is beating, pulse racing,
breath held as I lie.
My innocence I can't defend;
I know that surely this will linger
'til my very end.
I brought this all upon myself;
Mask upon mask, lie upon lie
like valueless wealth.
Dare I take these masks off – no!
My former self haunts me
everywhere I go.
False glory, false honor, false fame;
With all these masks I seem to have
forgotten my own name.

Now this an issue that I believe is becoming quite a problem and in fact it has been a problem for a long time but it's prevalence is getting worse with the celebration of a hollywood lifestyle.
Now I know the people on DA are better than the jocks and teens that are just lookin' to fit in. But grappling with alcoholism and the relief of a bottle is something that can be harsh, so I felt it's time that I put out a good message about it.
Peace ya'll, the pirate accent will come back now that I've gotten this out ^^
